WHERE WE BEGIN

I grew up in Vanuatu but moved to Australia when I was a teen. I lived in North Queensland working in tourism & hospitality, returning to Vanuatu regularly to visit my family. 

In 2017 I returned to Vanuatu as one of many 'boomerang children' and I continue to work mainly in the tourism industry.

I've used social media for business for roughly 10 years and currently operate about 5 Facebook pages, and 3 instagram for business accounts. Consequently I spend A LOT of time on social media and see some small businesses struggling to find their way forward. 

My pages aren't the trendiest, they don't have the most followers, and I don't spend as much time or as much money as some people do, in growing these pages. But they are MY pages, that reflect the businesses I work in or am part of, with honesty, and I do my best to invest my personality and our branding into each one- 'keepin it real'. I spend a lot (too much) making sure I'm posting the right content that tells the story of each business.

I am wary in overinvesting in social media when we have limited resources.  In fact, I don't LOVE social media BUT I know it's a necessary tool and I have the experience in using it to share- I do LOVE sharing and connecting with businesses.

Vanuatu is not only where I'm from, it's part of who I am. I know it's hard for our local small businesses to find the tools to grow their businesses and this small blog and social media presence is how I aim to help.

Aelan Business Social is not currently a business- I'm not earning an income from it. It's simply a place or a platform for me to get what's in my head onto 'paper' and share it. Maybe one day I'll decide to make money from it (don't know how) but, until then, enjoy and I hope that I can at least help a few people pick up some tips & tricks.
